The name of Caesarea was given to the city under the reign of Tiberius (14 - 37) in memory of the great Roman emperor. The Balçova hot springs are located on the site of the Baths of Agamemnon, known in antiquity for the therapeutie qualities of its waters.

This hot spring is located next to the Gönen Stream in Gönen County in the province of Balıkesir in the Marmara Region.
